The food truck craze really has its roots in Los Angeles, California, thanks to Roy Choi, the mastermind behind the Kogi BBQ Food Truck. Since then, the food truck frenzy has exploded with trucks popping up nationwide and a recent reality series on Food Network called, The Great Food Truck Race.
While there are awesome food trucks elsewhere, some of the best still call Los Angeles home. Here is a look at five of the trucks in Los Angeles serving up some amazing Asian cuisine.
1. Kogi BBQ - Korean BBQ Taco Truck
Chef Roy Choi, Mark Manguera, and Caroline Shin-Manguera founded the Kogi BBQ Truck, featuring spicy pork taco, kimchi quesadillas, and short rib sliders. There are now four trucks feeding hungry crowds from Los Angeles to Orange County. Twitter is their primary method of announcing truck locations and Chef Roy Choi's daily specials.
